During the week leading up to the race, Jaroslav had tried out different combinations of front chainrings including a single ring ranging from size 34 to 36, but he chose to race with a 2x10 (39/26) on SRAM XX rings. He also used brand new SRAM 10-speed Grip Shifters after deciding he liked how precisely they worked.
